Chili Cook-Off

The Mars Area Public Library is turning up the HEAT with our chili cook-off fundraiser!

When: Saturday, November 8 at 1pm

Where: Mars Area Public Library

Not a fan of chili but want to attend the event? Never fear! Additional goodies such as drinks, baked goods, and non-chili food will be available for purchase.

For $10 get a one to two ounce sample of chili from each competitor and two voting tickets.

Rules and Requirements

  • $100 entry fee per cook/team (includes table space).

  • Each competitor must prepare a minimum of 3-5 gallons of chili for sampling.

  • Competitors must bring their own heating equipment (crockpot burners, extension cords, etc.)

  • Judging will include both People's Choice and Judge's Choice categories.

Judging

People's choice: the winner of this category is chosen by your votes!

Judges choice: the winner of this category will be chosen from a panel of community figures.

Prizes

  • Cash Prize Pot: A portion of the entry fees will go toward the winners' prize fund.

  • Judges' Choice Champion: Custom trophy and a share of the prize pot.

  • People's Choice Champion: Custom trophy and a share of the prize pot.

  • Bragging rights as the 2025 Mars Area Public Library Chili Cook-Off Champion!
