Board Game Club:  Monthly Program

Every second Saturday of the month at 10am | Ages vary by game.

Learn to play a new game every month! Fun for the whole family!

Gumdrop & Toothpick STEM Challenge

Wednesday February 4 at 4:30pm | Ages 11+

STEM challenges have never looked so yummy.  Use gumdrops and toothpicks to construct the most stable design you can, then test each design for how much weight it can hold.  The only limits are your own imagination.

Chinese New Year Crafts

Wednesday February 18 at 5pm | Ages 11+

Crafts inspired by Chinese New Year 2026.  Sure, it’s the year of the horse, but why stop there?  What’s Chinese New Year without a dragon or two, right?

Scribble Bots bring together technology and crafting into one unique project. Once built, your bot can scribble their way across a page, making abstract art while they're at it.

Introduction to D&D

Thursday, March 5 at 5pm | Ages 11+

Curious about the world’s most popular role-playing game? Meet Dungeon Master Will and learn the basics of Dungeons and Dragons, including: What D&D is, creating a character, how the DM and players work together, and essential resources for play.

Movie Matinee: Dog Man (2025)

Friday, March 20 at 1pm | All ages

Stop by the library during one of the MASD “No School Days” to enjoy a free, animated “big screen” PG movie. Sit in chairs or on the floor, picnic style. Bring your own blanket and favorite snacks.

Chromatography

Wednesday, March 25 at 4:30pm | Ages 11+

Chromatography is the process of separating a substance into its components.  We’ll be experimenting with washable markers and coffee filters to find out what pigments go into any given color.  Mark your guesses down and see how many you get right.  We can then use our test results to make some colorful crafts to take home.

Book Bingo

Wednesday, April 1 at 4:30pm | Ages 7+

It’s BINGO featuring famous book characters. Choose from categories like Heroes, Villains, and Picture Books, then we play. Small prizes to the winner(s) of each round.

Wednesday, April 22 at 4:30pm | Ages 7+

​Art and technology combine in this popular after-school program. Just choose your colors, set the canvas in motion and let the machine do the work as you paint unique works of art to take home.

Escape Room: The Blackstone Inheritance

Friday and Saturday, May 8 and 9 starting at 11am | Ages 11+

​Your eccentric great uncle, the lord of Blackstone Manor, has left you his entire mansion in his will… on one condition: You'll need to earn your inheritance. Groups will prove themselves by solving puzzles to unlock the chest that contains the deed to the estate, all within one hour.  Register for a specific time slot. 3-5 participants per group

Winter Reading Program

Monday, December 29 to Saturday, January 31 | All Ages

A five-week reading program through the Beanstack app that encourages people to keep reading over Winter Break and beyond. This simplified version of the Summer Reading Program begins during school break, and asks children, teens, and adults to read one hour a week for five weeks.

Washi Tape Monograms

Thursday, February 12 at 5pm | Ages 15+

Create a personal piece of art that’s perfect for your wall or as a gift for a loved one! Choose your favorite washi tape colors and patterns and use them to make a unique monogram. The only crafty skills needed are the ability to cut and place tape, making this a perfect project for beginners.

Rolled Magazine Art

Thursday, March 12 at 5pm | Ages 15+

​Turn old magazines into vibrant, eye-catching art! This versatile craft can be applied to a variety of different outlines, from the abstract to the complex. Whether you carefully coordinate your colors or decide to embrace chaos, this beginner-friendly project delivers impressive results.

Button Bouquets

Thursday, April 23 at 5pm | Ages 15+

Make a charming bouquet that will last forever! Using buttons, floral wire, salt shakers, and other materials, you’ll make a one-of-a-kind floral arrangement perfect for bringing a pop of color into a room. No previous crafting experience is needed, just bring your creativity!

Teen Advistory Board (TAB)

Select Wednesdays at 6pm | Teens

The mission of the Teen Advisory Board (TAB) is to represent teen interests in the library, encourage leadership (with positions such as President, Secretary, etc.) and creativity, foster community engagement, and make a positive impact. TAB members will coordinate with Librarians to improve the library and implement programs that serve local teens. TAB meets monthly for one hour.

TAB members will earn volunteer hours.
